distended hard stomach
If you're sure it's just gas, perhaps walking. I imagine you might already be pacing. I hope you feel better.

I had that happening for quite awhile during a period of a few months when I was back eating sweets. I did look PG and decided from all I read that a bacterial overgrowth might be going on. I hadn't been taking probiotics as they didnt seem to help at first. I was ready to try flagyl and then start probiotics again.
Just prior to doing that I did have a bowel obstruction. It started as gas and I ate a lot of tums and tried to get it to pass laying in different positions & walking, etc etc. It seemed to be getting better (and I did pass gas & a poop) but when I drank water it all came back again full strength in gas pains. Thats' when I figured out I was obstructed. I was getting so weak I felt faint & called 911.
I did have emergency surgery. The surgeon said it was adhesions that twisted up the common channel rather than anything I had done. He removed adhesions & untwisted the common channel taking it all apart & restapling it. I was in the hospital 6 days. I carried my little emergency card showing the diagram of my new gut configuration and luckily he knew about it.
Obstructions are more common after any abdominal surgery and the DS was my second. He said it could even happen again.
